Sebastian Giovinco's agent has hinted that his client is keen to leave Juventus and Arsenal, who have been following him for months, could finally step in.
Juventus have completely dominated Serie A this season and will secure an unheard of 100 points if they draw with Cagliari or better in their final game.
Ex-Manchester City man Carlos Tevez and Spanish international Fernando Llorente have formed a dangerous strike partnership for the Old Lady, but that has come at the expense of the other attacking options.
Fabio Quagliarella, alleged Tottenham target Mirko Vucinic and Giovinco may have been slightly aggrieved when Pablo Daniel Osvaldo arrived on loan from Southampton in January to make competition for places still more fierce at Juventus.
When Giovinco has been given a chance in the team he has often not been received well by fans and was jeered during some home games.
And homegrown talent Giovinco, who was once the darling of Juventus, now appears to be ready to look elsewhere for first-team opportunities.
Arsenal asked after Giovinco in the January transfer window but a deal was deemed impossible. That is likely to have changed and the 27-year-old would almost certainly welcome a switch.
There are reports in Italy, citing the Daily Express, that Arsenal are closing in on Giovinco, but no formal approach appears to have been made yet.
In Italy the move is widely seen as a logical fit with some sources suggesting that talks may have already started between the two clubs.
Giovinco was one of the stars of Italy's Under-21 squad but he is yet to fully make his mark on the senior side and, fairly inevitably, missed out on a place in this summer's World Cup squad.
