Video: AC Milan prodigy set to become youngest player

AC Milan changing room

Teenage talent Hachim Mastour could become AC Milan's youngest ever player if he plays against Sassuolo this weekend.

Hachim Mastour became an internet sensation in Italy when videos of his skills circulated last year and he may be about to make the step up to the first team at the age of 15.

AC Milan's season could end in bitter disappointment unless there's a somewhat unlikely sequence of results this weekend.

The Rossoneri have underachieved badly and now need to win against Sassuolo while hoping that Torino don't overcome Fiorentina and Parma fluff their lines against already relegated Livorno.

Only that sequence of events would allow Milan to book a place in next season's Europa League, which still probably wouldn't be enough to keep coach Clarence Seedorf in a job.

But one of Seedorf's last acts in charge of Milan could be to launch a great talent of the future in Hachim Mastour.

At the age of 15 years and 11 months, Mastour has been called into the senior squad for the Sassuolo encounter and if he plays he will break Paolo Maldini's record as the youngest Milan player to make a Serie A debut.

Mastour's silky skills have stumped opponents at youth level and his first start in the full team has been eagerly awaited by Milan fans.

Already winning comparisons to Zinedine Zidane, a dazzling cameo by Mastour could be just the tonic the fans need after a grim season.
