El Mundo Deportivo claim that Chelsea youngster earmarked for exceptional future is eager to exercise a transfer out of SW6 and into Camp Nou.
A report in Spain claims that Chelsea star-in-the-making Thibaut Courtois, who has developed into one of the top young goalkeepers in world football after a number of successive loan spells at Atletico Madrid, could inform the Stamford Bridge club that he wants to realise his "dream of signing for Barcelona".
Atletico can clinch the La Liga title this weekend when they travel to Camp Nou on May 17 to take on Barcelona, however, the home team can steal the honour should they triumph over Diego Simeone's men.
El Mundo Deportivo believe there is an added element of intrigue in the fixture because of Courtois' mentality. He has represented Atleti for many seasons while on loan from Chelsea, but is up against the team he apparently wants to join.
The report states: "There is a factor that gives a special colour to this match - the presence in goal for Atletico of Thibaut Courtois as the Belgian goalkeeper has a contract with Chelsea until 2016 but wants to get out of it; his dream is signing for Barcelona."
Barcelona are assessing their goalkeeping options ahead of the summer transfer window, El Mundo Deportivo claim, and Courtois is deemed a risk-free target due to his familiarity with the division.
What the report seems to overlook, though, is the apparent deal between Barcelona and Borussia Monchengladback over the prospective transfer of Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Borussia boss Lucien Favre recently said on SRF: "Ter Stegen will go to Barcelona. Nobody can refuse an offer from them, maybe a chance like this only appears once in life."
