Those Luis Suarez to Real Madrid rumours show no sign of stopping, and the latest comes from Spanish broadsheet El Confidencial, which claims the La Liga side remain keen on the Liverpool striker, but not quite as keen as they are on a Premier League rival of his.
That player is Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, who the paper claims is Real’s number one target despite Suarez’s outstanding campaign.
So what is new? After all, the Aguero/Suarez-to-the-Bernabeu stories have been around for a while now.
Well, the latest report suggests Real are currently in a state of uncertainty, with a number of players linked with possible exits and the future of Carlo Ancelotti unknown.
It is claimed Real want a new striker and that a possible €70million bid for the Liverpool striker could be in the pipe-line.
The report claims that while the Reds are unlikely to do business, it could be Suarez’s reported desire to wear the white of Real that leads to a move.
It all sounds rather unlikely, but with Real reportedly readying the huge bid it would take to prise Suarez away from Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers’ side could soon have a decision to make.
Surely it will be a swift one, but it is not every day that offers that big arrive at your door.
With City seemingly unwilling to sanction a switch for Aguero, Real may be forced to move for a player dubbed as their second choice. But considering the Reds’ upward trajectory, they may have to swiftly move on to a third option…because surely Suarez is going nowhere with Champions League football now secured.
