Seven-year ex-Man United midfielder announces retirement

Park Ji-Sung has confirmed his decision to hang up his boots after an injury prone season with PSV Eindhoven.

Former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung has confirmed that he has retired from the game, aged 33.

The South Korea international struggled with knee injuries throughout 2013-14 while on loan at PSV Eindhoven from QPR.

The veteran stated that he has no regrets over his career and that now is the right time to hang up his boots.

"I've been mulling retirement since February, and I've concluded that my knee won't hold up for another season," Park revealed.

"I have no regrets about my career. I do think about what might have been if I hadn't been injured, but I have no feelings of disappointment or sorrow as I leave the sport."

In seven years at Old Trafford Park won four Premier League titles and was a firm favourite of the United fans.

Sir Alex Ferguson turned to the Asian dynamo in big games and certainly trusted Park to perform under pressure.
