Real Madrid officials are reportedly open to the idea of selling Angel Di Maria.
All four of those sides have just been handed a boost because the Spanish outlet has suggested that officials at the Bernabeu are open to the idea of letting the Argentine leave this summer.
“Although everyone at Real Madrid is currently fully focused on the Champions League final in Lisbon and their only concern is fulfilling their ticket commitments, there are those high up within the club who would be prepared to sell him,” reads a report on Marca’s website.
Arsenal were strongly linked with him throughout last season as Arsene Wenger looks to add balance on the left side of his midfield.
A winger who can play down the left is likely to be a priority for Wenger because it would allow Lukas Podolski to move forward and play in a centre forward role alongside Olivier Giroud and any other forward the boss brings in this summer.
Arsenal’s problem in terms of the competition comes in a variety of different forms.
Manchester City have just won the Premier League title and arguably present a more immediate chance of domestic and European success for Di Maria.
City are also in a position where they can be competitive in the transfer market due to the vast resources available to their owners.
The Ligue One sides interested in Di Maria can both offer him better personal deals then he’s likely to receive should he move to Arsenal.
Monaco have the ability to pay him more than any of the other sides interested while PSG, similarly to City, represent a good chance of immediate silverware and success.
It’s been a strange season for Di Maria because while he was booed towards the start of the season, he’s grown to become one of Carlo Ancelotti’s most important players.
However, failure to beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final would leave Los Blancos with only the Copa del Rey to show for their season and that could prompt Florentino Perez into making changes.
