There are plenty of stories, which are dominating the press this week as Tottenham are currently searching for a new manager after Tim Sherwood was given the boot at White Hart Lane.

On the other side of North London, Arsenal are getting ready for the FA Cup final and an attempt to win a first trophy since 2005.

We’ve taken a look back at some of the key stories making the headlines on this day last year.

‘Liverpool’s Tello for Reina swap deal’

Cristian Tello frequently gets linked with Premier League moves and Brendan Rodgers was thought to be keen on snapping up the attacking star last summer.

To do so, he was reportedly considering a swap deal which would have seen goalkeeper Pepe Reina heading to Spain in an exchange deal for the young attacker.

Reina subsequently went on loan to Serie A side Napoli when it became clear that he’d be second choice behind Simon Mignolet at Anfield.

‘Benitez’ leaving present for Chelsea fans’

Rafael Benitez was about to take charge of his final game in charge of Chelsea as the side looked to win the Europa League final.

The Spaniard was not given a chance by some Chelsea fans as soon as he was announced as the club’s interim manager following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

Benitez wanted to leave on a high and his Chelsea side went on to beat Benfica in the final of last year’s competition.

'Arsenal linked with Barcelona starlet'

Arsenal get linked with Barcelona youngsters frequently because of the style of play Arsene Wenger uses at the Emirates Stadium.

The player in question was Josimar Quintero, a 16-year-old winger. The Gunners were also linked with a move for defender Julio Selva.

However, Spanish outlet AS suggested that Selva was Chelsea bound.
