Chelsea morning news: Second new deal to be announced following Terry extension?

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Former Chelsea player Ray Wilkins has a simple message for Chelsea; sign Diego Costa and win the Premier League.

The Spanish international has been linked with the Blues for some time and reports are surfacing that a deal may have been agreed with Atletico Madrid.

“If Chelsea had a 20-goal man they would have won the title comfortably. But that wasn’t the case and hopefully they can address that situation,” he told talkSPORT.

Chelsea icon John Terry will be looking forward to a new one-year contract with the club.

Terry formed part of the Blues back four last season which conceded fewer goals than any other side in the Premier League.

He’s retired from international football, which means he’ll have the chance to rest over the summer ahead of the new campaign.

With the Terry deal secured, the club will now reportedly focusing in getting a new deal sorted for midfielder Frank Lampard.

Lampard signed a new one-year deal last summer after Jose Mourinho was announced as the permanent manager at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is expected to be offered a similar type of one-year contract.
