Van Gaal talks about United in Dutch press conference; he hints that patience is key

Louis Van Gaal

Tipped to become the next manager of Manchester United, Louis van Gaal has been answering questions during his Dutch press conference.

Louis van Gaal has been speaking to the press about the continuing links with the vacant manager’s job at Manchester United.

In quotes published by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the 62-year-old said, “You’ll have to ask the club,” when questioned on the rumours that an announcement would be made as early as tomorrow.

He then went on to speak about the numerous reports that have circulated since his impromptu interview with English journalists last week.

“I murmured four-and-a-half words and that was turned into 60 pages,” van Gaal said.

But it was what he would go on to say that will be of the most interest to United fans eager to know if he will be the next man in the Old Trafford hot seat.

“I’m not here as the manager or possible future manager of Manchester United,” he is quoted as saying. “You have to wait until the process is finished.”

For now van Gaal is, understandably, focusing on the World Cup, with an announcement on his final squad of 23 fast approaching.

But with theTottenham Hotspur post now also available, United fans will hope a deal has been done so as to ensure van Gaal does not ultimately end up at the club he was linked with prior to David Moyes’ dismissal.
