Sergio Aguero says that he will be back at the Etihad Stadium next season to win more trophies.
Back in the summer of 2011 when Sergio Aguero joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid, there were suggestions that the Argentine striker was going to stay in England for just one year.
The reason given was that after five successful years in the Spanish capital, he had earned himself a place on Real Madrid’s wanted list. However, Los Blancos couldn’t sign him from their city-rivals and Aguero did not want to anger the Atletico fans by forcing a move. So one season at City and then he would be off to Spain again, this time for Real – that was the plan.
That did not turn out to be quite true, but links with Real have continued to persist. Even after three good seasons with the Manchester outfit, Aguero is still said to have an eye on playing for the nine-time European champions and one of the world’s biggest clubs.
However, the Argentina international has now dismissed all rumours that he will leave the Etihad Stadium. Having just won the Premier League title for the second time in three years, the 25-year-old has made it clear that he is no mood to quit the Eastlands outfit just yet and will be back to earn more glory next season.
‘I'm so happy’, The Mirror quotes the former Independiente man as saying. ‘It was an amazing moment to win another title. I'll be back next year even stronger to win more trophies’.
Aguero has been a huge success in the Premier League in his three years at City, even though injuries have threatened to make his life miserable in England. He scored 23 league goals in 2011-12, 12 in 2012-13 and 17 this campaign.
Aguero is a world-class striker and his assurances that he will remain a Manchester City player next season only means that great things are in store at the Etihad.
