One area Manchester United badly need to strengthen is the midfield and Enzo Perez has emerged as a potential transfer objective, but Juventus could have the same idea.
Prior to his dismissal, David Moyes was seen watching Benfica play Porto and he was said to be paying special attention to Argentine star Perez.
Perez used to play on the right but has moved to central midfield and excelled there, forming an excellent partnership with Nemanja Matic before he re-joined Chelsea.
Juventus directors were reportedly impressed by how Perez acquitted himself when the Old Lady met Benfica in the Europa League despite the fact that Perez was sent off for two yellow cards in the second leg.
Perez is under contract at Benfica until 2018 but there have been reports in Portugal that the midfielder is keen to move on as he feels the standard of football in the Superliga isn't high enough.
Having seen Matic move to Chelsea, it is suggested that Perez is determined to relocate and while the Premier League could be his ideal destination, Serie A might also be an option if he gets to play for a Juventus side who are completely dominant.
Whether Juventus are able to invest £16m is uncertain and one of the questions that will determine whether coach Antonio Conte stays at the club or leaves in the summer.
