Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Lloris to be offered new contract? Sherwood wants fast decision on future

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Mirror has reported that Tottenham will offer goalkeeper Hugo Lloris a new contract to stay at the club.

The Frenchman has been linked with a summer exit with French side Paris Saint-Germain thought to be keen on offering him a way back to France.

Lloris was one of Tottenham’s best and most consistent players throughout the course of last season.

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood wants a quick decision made over his future at White Hart Lane.

Reports over the last couple of weeks of the season have suggested that Sherwood would be sacked from his role at the club when the season finished.

“That would make sense. It will be interesting to see how I’ve been judged and what I’ve been judged on. If I’m to leave it can’t be on results,” he told the press.

Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker has reportedly been left out of England’s World Cup squad.

Walker has not played since last March due to a hip problem and has apparently been overlooked for the tournament in Brazil.

England boss Roy Hodgson is set to name his provisional squad for the World Cup later today.
