Arsenal legend wished Ashley Cole well via Twitter.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry joined Twitter yesterday, amassing 230,000 followers in around 12 hours.
The club's record goalscorer has had little to say thus far, sending just four tweets during that period, only two of them football related.
And he has not addressed former club Arsenal as yet, although he is following their official account.
The first football related comment he made was to pay tribute to Chelsea's Ashley Cole, who heard the news hours earlier that he would not be selected in England's World Cup squad, and later retired from international football.
Thoughts are with @theRealAC3. Great servant to his national team.— Thierry Henry (@ThierryHenry) May 12, 2014
Henry is a former teammate of Ashley Cole's, with the pair playing key roles at Arsenal a decade ago as part of the club's history making 'Invincibles' side.
With Cole's future at Chelsea far from certain amid his expiring contract, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Henry and the Englishman link up again soon.
If Cole is released, and with no international hopes to cling onto, the possibility of making a money spinning Major League Soccer move may appeal.
With Henry a star at the New York Red Bulls, the pair may just get the chance to renew their on pitch relationship one last time.
