Pepe Reina has become a hero at Napoli and the Partenopei could turn his loan into a permanent signing this summer.
The Spanish goalkeeper joined the Azzurri on a season loan from Liverpool and has been on excellent form, helping Napoli to third place in Serie A and Italian Cup glory.
Napoli have made no secret of their desire to make the Reina deal permanent when his loan ends in the summer, but it all depends on whether he still has a future at Liverpool.
It has been suggested that Napoli will need to bid £5m to convince Liverpool to part with Reina while there are rumours that a buy-out clause in the 'keeper's contract allows him to leave for £4.5m if Napoli need to circumvent Liverpool.
It is being reported that Liverpool don't see Reina commanding a place in the side next term and are ready to listen to an offer.
Barcelona had been tipped to challenge for Reina's signature, but the Catalan giants are now said to be set on Marc André Ter Stegen of Borussia Monchengladbach and there are reports that he will be presented to the crowd before next weekend's title decider against Atletico Madrid.
Reina has always hinted that he would be happy to stay at Napoli but has been keen to stress that any decision is down to Liverpool - it now seems that his eight-year spell at Anfield could come to an end.
