Tottenham Hotspur had many wondering if they could make their way back into the Champions League this season after their summer transfer business. They sold Gareth Bale for a record fee but reinvested that money in huge sums to bring in some big names.
Etienne Capoue, Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches, Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela ... big money was spent to bring in these talented individuals and there is certainly a case to suggest that every single one of them has not lived up to their price-tag.
That being said, there is also scope to say that one of their signings was the bargain of the summer - Christian Eriksen.
The Danish international arrived at Tottenham in August last year for a fee rumoured to be worth around £11 million - and he has gone on to have an excellent debut campaign at the club.
His performance in the first-team has now been recognised at the official Tottenham awards as he was rewarded with the clubs player of the year.
And he showed off his awards on Instagram yesterday - posing with them on the White Hart Lane turf. If the other summer signings can improve next term than Spurs will be targeting a Champions League place next term, with Eriksen likely to be leading the charge.
