Yesterday evening saw the last Match of the Day episode of the season, and the last one featuring Alan Hansen as a pundit, which meant the Premier League goal of the season getting its vote.
It was a tough one to call this campaign. Moments of individual brilliance from Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Jonjo Shelvey were however ignored for the wonderful team goal Arsenal scored against Norwich City earlier in the campaign. Jack Wilshere started and finished the move, which saw some wonderful touches from the likes of Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud before Wilshere slotted beyond John Ruddy with a first time effort.
Wilshere's goal got the most votes by a mile on the Twitter poll the BBC ran and it also got the vote from one man who has been something of an Arsenal sceptic all season.
Michael Owen played down Arsenal's chances of making it into the top four of the Premier League this season and has often found himself in trouble with the Gunners faithful on Twitter for his comments about the North London club.
But yesterday he revealed it was Wilshere's goal which also got his vote as the best one this season.
He also voted another Arsenal team goal, scored this time by Tomas Rosicky, in third position. So he obviously was a fan of Arsenal this season all along.
