We compile some of the best photos taken by Manchester City supporters and players as they celebrated winning the Premier League
Heading into the final day of the Premier League season there was, perhaps, an expectation that Manchester City would not do things the easy way. They never do.
Few clubs in world football put their fans through the mill quite like City do. Even in their triumphs, they have generally made life difficult for themselves.
Just look at this season, when success has been starting to come regularly for Manuel Pellegrini's side, they were far from their best when winning the FA Cup and required two moments of genius to ensure they won the trophy, after falling behind early on.
However, today, they looked assured, calm and confident on the way to their second Premier League title in three years.
Nobody will forget the pulse-racing finale that was needed when City last won the Premier League, in 2012, as Edin Dzeko and then Sergio Aguero scored two incredibly late goals to steal the title off their bitter rivals, Manchester United, in the most dramatic climax to the Premier League in its history.
But few City fans would want to win it that way again. This way was certainly much better for the heart.
Needing to beat West Ham United at home to seal the title, City were never really threatened by their visitors, as Samir Nasri's and Vincent Kompany's goals secured their crucial victory.
After the match the celebrations were similar to the ones seen two years ago. Fans invaded the pitch, players were mobbed as they struggled to make their way off the pitch and 'selfies' were taken in abundance.
And, below, we have compiled some of the best photos taken from fans and players after City secured their second Premier League title.
