Henry joins Twitter - Arsenal fans will love his profile

Former AS Monaco, Arsenal, Barcelona and current New York Red Bulls don Thierry Henry has joined social media network Twitter.

Legendary Arsenal striker amassed 50,000 Twitter followers in the space of 20 minutes as he joined the footballing giant joined the social media network earlier today, Monday.

Henry enjoyed two spells in North London, one for eight years and a short loan period in 2012, netted 228 goals from 376 games, far surpassing the previous striking records set by other iconic Gunners including Ian Wright, Cliff Bastin, John Radford and Ted Drake.

Henry left Arsenal to join Barcelona in 2007 in a €24m deal, winning a brace of La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy to supplement the two Premier League crowns he won in England.

Currently, he represents New York Red Bulls, a team he has helped to two MLS Eastern Conference triumphs and are one of the few social media accounts he has followed already on Twitter, along with Beats by Dre, Puma Football, Piers Morgan and Cesc Fabregas.

What Gunners supporters will most enjoy about Henry's Twitter account is his profile picture - a photograph of his iconic statue outside of Arsenal's Emirates Stadium home, a venue the player has frequently discussed moving back to in his post-playing days.
