Blizzard will be launching Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on August 19th. This edition will get you the original Diablo III bundled with the Reaper of Souls expansion which came out in March.
The Ultimate Evil Edition will be bringing in a new Apprentice mode to allow low level players to join groups with much higher level characters and a new in-game mail system that will allow you to share loot with players on your friends list.
For pre-order and launch day purchases Blizzard are throwing in a set of Infernal Pauldrons a low level twink item that can be equipped at level 1 and grants health, HP regen and cooldown reduction bonuses. You will be able to transmogrify (change the look) of your Pauldrons but you can’t move them on your character if you want to move platforms.
Players on PS3 and Xbox 360 who already own Diablo III will be able to keep their characters if they buy the new edition and if moving onto new consoles can transfer characters across from PS3 to PS4 and from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.
Below is an Ultimate Evil Edition trailer.
Blizzard having seen sales of 2.7 million copies of the Reaper of Souls after the first week on PC/Mac may well see some more impressive figures for the 8th gen launch. If you’re playing Diablo III on PS3 or Xbox 360 will you be reaching into your pockets again to get the new features with the Ultimate Evil Edition?
