Arsenal target Draxler: I have absolutely no thoughts of moving

Julian Draxler

The Germany international has stated that he is happy at Schalke and is not interested in a summer transfer.

Arsenal are thought to have made a significant offer for Schalke attacking midfielder Julian Draxler in the January transfer window and are widely expected to return for the star this summer.

However, the Germany international has poured cold water on rumblings that he could be heading to North London.

When asked about his future today the 20-year-old has stated that he is happy in Gelsenkirchen.

“I have absolutely no thoughts of moving,” Draxler told Bild.

“It is guaranteed that there will be speculation, but it’s very, very likely I will play at Schalke next season.”

The Gunners have a growing contingent of German players at the club but it appears that Draxler is not set to join Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Serge Gnabry in North London.

Draxler is rated as one of the most promising young players in Europe and has been named in Germany’s provisional World Cup squad.
