Arsenal latest: Wenger’s Ozil advice and Belgian teenager on radar

A roundup of news stories this evening about Arsenal.

The announcement of England’s World Cup squad has been dominating the headlines in the English press today, and the Arsenal fans will be delighted to see two of their star players representing the Three Lions.

Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have both been included in the 23-man party, and they will join their England teammates two days after the FA Cup final when they fly out to Portugal for a training camp.

Another Arsenal star who is expected to play at the World Cup in Brazil, Mesut Ozil, has been given some advice by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

According to Germany coach Joachim Loew, Wenger has told the 25-year-old midfielder to work on his “body language” during matches.

‘Ozil has been through a low at the end of the last year, after that the injury followed’, Loew told German magazine Kicker. ‘Mesut needs to work on his body language. He has heard it from me, and, I believe, also from Arsene Wenger'.

Ozil’s Germany international teammate Lukas Podolski has said that despite Arsenal’s failure to win the Premier League this season, they can still be satisfied with their campaign.

‘This is the Premier League, which is not like other leagues’, Sky Sports quotes the forward as saying. ‘Every year, you have six or seven teams who fight to be champions and as well the teams who are at the bottom fight every game. But I think we played a well in the season and if we can win the FA Cup final, then it is a good season for us’.

Meanwhile, Swansea City manager Garry Monk has said that reported Arsenal target Wilfried Bony will not be sold unless they receive “an astronomical fee”.

‘I think we can hold on to him’, he told talkSPORT. ‘He’s a good guy but money talks. It would have to be an astronomical fee for him to leave though and we’re not a selling club. We’re not in any debt. We don’t need to lose anyone so we’re in a strong position’.

In other transfer news related to Arsenal, according to Benefoot, the North London club are interested in Anderlecht teenager Jason Eyenga-Lokilo.

The Belgian attacking midfielder is just 15 years of age, but he has reportedly been on Arsenal’s radar for the past two years and the Gunners are eager to hand him a trial. Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon are also said to be interested in Eyenga-Lokilo.
