Andre Villas-Boas watched his record at Zenit St Petersburg disappear last weekend when his new side battled out a hard fought 1-1 draw against title rivals Lokomotiv Moscow.
The former Tottenham boss had previously led them to six wins on the bounce ever since taking over at the club, a run of form which saw them fly to the top of the Russian Premier League table. Today however was supposed to see them return to winning ways at home against Dynamo Moscow. However it was a bleak day for the club - for many different reasons.
First of all, they lost - AVB's first defeat as a manager since Tottenham lost to Liverpool 5-0 in December of 2013. Although technically the game was called off with three minutes left.
Danny and Alexander Kerzhakov scored the first and last goals of the game but four goals in between saw Dynamo win the game 4-2, with only a few minutes left of the game it seems the result will stand from this game.
The infamous Zenit Ultras however decided to take it upon themselves to take retribution upon their conquerors.
The fans invaded the pitch and the referee decided to cancel the game but there was still enough time for one idiot to try land a punch on Dynamo captain Vladimir Granat.
Zenit released an official statement after the game - which read:
"We expresses our deep regret concerning the incidents that happened in Zenit`s match vs. Dynamo Moscow in the 29th round of the SOGAZ Russian Premier League today, leading to the match being abandoned."
For Zenit it is another embarrassing incident caused by their fans and it was all caught on video, you can even see a distressed AVB attempting to calm the onrushing hoard with little success.
