Thibaut Courtois rarely puts a foot wrong but he did today.
It seems as though nobody in particular actually wants to win the Spanish title this season - after all three chasers dropped points again this weekend.
Real Madrid are now out of the running, if they weren't already. They lost 2-0 to Celta de Vigo away from home in a result which ruins any outside chance they had of winning the title.
Barcelona remain three points behind Atletico Madrid at the top of the table, after they failed to get all three points at Elche. The home side have not lost at their own ground this year and Barca could not break that streak.
Meanwhile, at the Vicente Calderon, a win would have won Los Colchoneros the title - in the end they got away with a draw despite dominating for large periods of the game.
They found Malaga stopper Willy Caballero in astonishing form and it was only a goal for Belgium international Toby Alderweireld that saved them from defeat at the hands of The Anchovies.
And Alderweireld was helping out his best pal at the club with his goal ... Thibaut Courtois.
The Chelsea loanee is considered the best young goalkeeper in the world and with good reason - he is. But he made an uncharacteristic and rare mistake today, charging out for a ball he was never going to reach in the build up to Samuel's opener for the visiting team.
In the end it may not have proven costly, we will never know if the score would have ended 1-0 to Atletico if they had not gone behind.
But Courtois will be forgiven for such mistakes considering the top form he has been in all campaign. A similar mistake at the Nou Camp next weekend though and we will soon hear all about it.
