While Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has been twisting Premier League defenders inside-out this season, his little brother Thorgan has been doing the same back in Belgium.
The Blues star has been on loan at Zulte-Waregem for the best part of 18 months, and his development in the Jupiler League will have been carefully monitored by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The 21-year-old Belgian Player of the Year has netted 17 goals for the club since making his loan move, and his latest during his side’s 3-1 playoff championship victory over Lokeren on Saturday was further proof of his ability.
The winger received the ball just inside the area at an unfavourable angle, and without hesitation he unleashed a right-footed fierce drive which flew past the visiting goalkeeper and into the far top-corner.
The goal set the home side on their way to a crucial victory in the all-important playoff stages between Belgium’s top six clubs. Zulte currently lead the way, and two more victories against Anderlecht and Club Bruges over the next week will see the younger Hazard return to the Blues this summer as a Belgian league champion.
