Arsenal boss Wenger will be keen to add to his squad this summer, as he bids to further close the gap and compete with the very best at the top of the Premier League.
This summer is a big one for Wenger - and indeed Arsenal - and the Frenchman could do worse than to take advantage of Barcelona’s own reported player restructure to bolster his squad.
Diario Sport reported last week that Barcelona are thought likely to make up to 13 players available for transfer at the end of the season, including the likes of Alex Song, Tello, Cesc Fabregas and Sanchez.
The Mirror reports, however, that Sanchez is a player very much on Arsenal's mind, and the £20m asking price is within the club's budget. Stiff competition is expected, however, from the likes of Juventus.
The 25-year-old former Udinese star is possibly the perfect attacking player for the current Arsenal set-up - he is fast, skilful, excellent at finding space and is always willing to run beyond the last defender.
The attacking winger's reported availability is somewhat surprising, however, as he has enjoyed a good season at Barcelona. In 25 La Liga starts, Sanchez has netted 18 goals and made a further ten assists – contributing to a goal every 80 minutes on average.
