Tottenham finished off a disappointing season on a high with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
Spurs would've needed a freak turn of events in terms of goal difference to overtake Everton to get fifth place, but they had to notch a win to guard against Manchester United pipping them to sixth on the final day of the Premier League season.
It's been an underwhelming campaign for Tottenham, as the promise offered from all the summer signings couldn't be fulfilled, and the £100m clan have been largely ineffective throughout the season, but Tim Sherwood's men ended the season with a win to give their supporters hope for next season.
Goals from Paulinho and Emmanuel Adebayor either side of a Nathan Baker own goal handed Spurs a convincing 3-0 win over struggling Villa, in what could prove to be Sherwood's final game in charge at White Hart Lane, with the club widely expected to appoint a replacement this summer.
Spurs fans were in a reflective mood on Twitter after the game, remembering a thoroughly disappointing season, but had cause for optimism as the club could spend heavily again this summer - as well as replace Sherwood, whose tenure has been fairly mixed.
Here is a selection of tweets from Spurs fans after today's win.

21 wins despite being woeful against Top 4 teams. Quite clear what cost us 4th spot this season. Shame. Onwards & upwards from here #thfc— Jon Evans (@JontyEvans) May 11, 2014
