With the likes of Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol set to leave Barcelona this summer and the potential for a new manager at Camp Nou, a summer of changes are widely expected at the Catalan side.
Today’s British tabloids are suggesting that another of Barca’s homegrown stalwarts could be offloaded this summer, with Xavi’s future at the club in doubt.
The Daily Star has intimated that the World Cup winning midfielder has been offered to a host of Premier League clubs as the Spaniards look to freshen up their side.
Xavi, who is 34 and expected to play a key role for Spain at this summer’s World Cup, still has two years left to run on his contract at his boyhood club.
However, he has been linked with a move to the MLS of late, with a last bumper payday for the star potentially on the cards.
The report also claims that Xavi would want a £150k-a-week deal to move to England, which could put a dampener on him signing for a Premier League side.
