Liverpool ended the 2013-14 Premier League campaign in second place with a comeback victory over Newcastle United on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side fell behind at Anfield after 20 minutes when Martin Skrtel scored an own goal.
However, Daniel Agger and Daniel Sturridge scored inside two minutes of each other in the second half to help the Reds win the contest 2-1, with the Magpies having been reduced to nine men in the end.
The victory was not enough for the Merseyside outfit to win the title for the first time in the Premier League era, as Manchester City defeated West Ham United 2-0 at home to finish two points clear at the top of the table and end the season as English champions.
The season, though, was a successful one for Liverpool, who were initially expected to fight for a top-four place but ended up second instead.
