PS4 version of Planetside 2 to showcase at E3

SoE have confirmed the PS4 port will be in 1080p with a hands-on demo coming to the E3 game expo in June,

Sony’s sci-fi MMO shooter Planetside 2 edges closer to the PS4. According to quotes from creative director Matt Higby the PS4 version will be coming in 1080p meaning the PS4’s HD graphics won’t be compromised as the console deals with running Planetside 2’s massive open game world.

Originally set to come out in early 2014 the progress of the now delayed PS4 Planetside 2 port has been largely keep under wraps but Higby has confirmed there’ll be some hands on time with the game at E3 coming up next month.

With Sony unofficially giving Planetside 2 a release date later this year the emergence of a playable version is making things look a bit more likely and no doubt will generate its fair share of buzz as gamers get their hands on it for the first time.

Planetside 2 has been out for PC since 2012 and along with SoE’s Everquest Next MMORPG represents Sony’s designs to move games from its online division onto PS4 to give it more muscle in the MMO space.
