Off to Man United? Skillful playmaker confirms summer exit

Remy Cabella

Remy Cabella has admitted that he has played his last home game for Montpellier, with a move at the end of the season to happen.

With additional creativity and guile one of the priorities in this summer’s transfer market for Manchester United, a number of technically gifted midfielders have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Remy Cabella has long been mentioned as a player that the outgoing Premier League champions have admired, with the attacking midfielder having an excellent season in Ligue 1.

Ahead of Montpellier’s 2-0 home defeat to Bastia on Saturday, the playmaker confirmed that it would be his last game at the Stade de la Mosson.

“This match is the last night at La Mosson,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

“Never forget the Gambardella (French youth cup) and French Championship with MHSC.”

Newcastle have also been linked with a move with Cabella as a potential replacement for Yohan Cabaye.

The 24-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for Montpellier this season, scoring 14 goals and creating five assists in 36 games.
