Croatian rising star Mateo Kovacic could be the subject of a bidding war between Liverpool and Manchester United this summer if they saw his performance against Lazio.
The 20-year-old is very highly rated for his creativity and eye for a pass, but he has struggled somewhat to make his mark this term.
Nonetheless, Kovacic was included in La Gazzetta dello Sport's list of the top young players in the world earlier in the season and continues to attract the attention of top European clubs.
And the midfielder was magnificent in Inter's 4-1 win over Lazio, asserting his credentials on the big stage.
Kovacic provided three assists in the game and was involved in almost everything good that the Nerazzurri did.
After the game, coach Walter Mazzarri, who had been critical of Kovacic earlier in the season, praised him for 'growing game by game' but promised there was better still to come.
As well as his excellence in possession, Kovacic showed a pugnacious side winning 11 challenges in midfield.
