"I would have expected more” - Anderson to return to Man United?

Former Fiorentina striker Francesco Flachi has stated that the Brazilian’s time in Serie A has been a disappointment.

It is set to be a summer of upheaval at Manchester United, with a new manager and considerable changes in the playing personnel.

Although a lot of new faces are expected to arrive at Old Trafford, there will also be a number of exits amongst the current squad.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson has spent the second half of the season out on loan at Fiorentina, with every indication that his days with the outgoing Premier League champions are numbered.

However, having only started four Serie A games since his move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi, it looks like a permanent move to the high-flying Florence side will not happen.

Former Fiorentina striker Francesco Flachi, who played for the Viola for four years in the 1990’s, has stated that Anderson’s time in Italy has been less than ideal.

“I’m sorry for Anderson, when he was at Manchester United I really liked him,” the 39-year-old told Radio Bu.

“Injuries have limited him; I would have expected more.”

The centre of midfield is an area where United are expected to bolster and as such Anderson will have a job on his hands to get back into the reckoning at Old Trafford.

However, with the South American not overly impressing in Italy he could well be heading back to Manchester.
