Emmanuel Adebayor has taken to Twitter to reflect on a difficult campaign at White Hart Lane.
Sherwood replaced Andre Villas-Boas in December after the Portuguese appeared to lose the fans at The Lane.
But Sherwood's old school and honest approach to management is not popular with Daniel Levy - who is said to want Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino sitting in the dugout from the start of next season.
Some players will very pleased to see the back of Sherwood. Brazilian midfielder Sandro will certainly want to see him depart. But others will not be so keen - including the striker he brought in from the cold.
Emmanuel Adebayor got on the wrong side of AVB at the start of the season and was cast asunder - a leper in the Tottenham squad and training with the under-21s.
But with AVB's departure came an instant recall for the player and he took his opportunity with both hands. He has scored 13 goals in his 24 appearances this season - the majority of which came post AVB sacking.
And ahead of today's game Adebayor has taken to Twitter to thank the fans for what has been a very tough season for him on an individual level.
