Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga celebrations are well under way at the Allianz Arena following the end of the German season.
Pep Guardiola’s side romped to league victory, claiming the title as early as March as they left Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen in their wake.
Since then, performances have naturally dropped, and their easy title victory may have caused players to lose concentration during the German’s 5-0 aggregate defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
Former Barcelona boss Guardiola admits to being under pressure following that heavy defeat, and he has a busy summer on his hands as speculation over a number of players’ futures at the club remains uncertain.
One of those is midfielder Toni Kroos who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old German international is currently in the midst of a contract dispute at the club, and the Red Devils are eager to take advantage by bringing him to Old Trafford.
Man United are in desperate need of a new midfielder, and should former Bayern boss Louis Van Gaal take over the managerial reigns, it has been reported that Kroos will be one of the Dutchman’s main priorities this summer.
Before that, however, United target Kroos was happy to forget about this summer’s prospects and focus on enjoying the moment of becoming a Bundesliga champion for the third time in his short career. In the traditional beer-throwing celebrations, Pep Guardiola gained his revenge for his earlier soaking by drenching Toni Kroos to the delight of Bayern’s jubilant supporters.
