Report: Juventus sign Nani but Conte doesn't want him

Coach Antonio Conte's position at Juventus is in serious doubt as reports surface that the Old Lady are set to sign Nani against his wishes.

Juventus may have just celebrated a third consecutive Italian title, but all is not well in the Bianconeri camp and Manchester United winger Nani could be caught in the middle.

The Old Lady strolled to the Scudetto and clinched it with three games to spare after second-placed Roma were unexpectedly defeated by Catania.

Antonio Conte's side are now chasing 100 points, but the coach has become frustrated by criticism after Juventus failed to conquer Europe.

Juventus were knocked out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage by Benfica, denying them a place in the final which will be hosted in their stadium, and some sections of the Italian media labelled Conte's season a failure.

Talks are underway to try and get Conte to commit his long-term future to Juventus but Conte has hit out in the press at the lack of resources and is reportedly ready to quit if eight players aren't signed in the summer.

One signing that does appear to be imminent is that of Manchester United man Nani, but Tuttosport insists that Conte doesn't want him.

Tuttosport believes that the deal is done and Nani will arrive on a three-year contract this summer but after recent injury problems Conte isn't certain he's a good addition.

Conte had previously been keen on signing the Portuguese international but now he reportedly fears Nani won't be able to find his best form and isn't the kind of player needed to win the Champions League.

Juventus are also looking at Aleksandar Kolarov and Patrice Evra but again Tuttosport believes that Conte doesn't see them as world-class and is determined to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.

However, it is suggested that Juventus don't have the economic might to land a player like Di Maria and sporting director Beppe Marotta has fallen out with Conte over which players are possible this summer.
