Adil Rami has enjoyed an excellent spell at AC Milan on loan from Spanish side Valencia, but reports suggest that the Rossoneri may struggle to keep him permanently.
The French international defender has added some stability to a Milan defence that at times has looked shaky and is one of few players to come out of a poor season for the club with credit.
Milan have entered into talks with Valencia over keeping Rami on a permanent basis when his loan ends this summer and the player seems happy to stay.
"My idol is Alessandro Nesta and I have a lot of respect for the city of Milan and would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone here."
But Rami's words start to sound like a farewell when considered alongside reports today that Milan have baulked at the price tag Valencia have attached to him.
Rami's contract at Valencia is set to enter its final year, so a sale in the summer looks likely but Valencia won't be giving any discounts as they know they have multiple interested parties.
