The Uruguayan has admitted that he has made mistakes and does not want his children to see what he has done.

Luis Suarez has been a revelation this season for Liverpool, putting his past disciplinary misdeameanours behind him to spearhead the Anfield club’s Premier League title charge.

However, the Uruguayan missed the start of the campaign after serving a ban after biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic last term.

Suarez was also found guilty of biting Otman Bakkal during his time at Ajax, compounding the incident last season.

The South American attacker has spoken out about the bite and has admitted that he is ashamed of his actions.

“For the kids I want to be a good man, a good father of whom they are proud,” he told Helden Magazine.

“I feel so ashamed about the mistakes I’ve made, biting an opponent twice.

“Later when you realise that your children will see those pictures it causes you even more pain.”

Suarez is set to feature at this summer’s World Cup against England for Uruguay in Group D.

The star has been named Premier League Player of the Year for his domestic displays for the Reds.
