Interim manager Ryan Giggs expects Manchester United to make an ‘announcement soon’ over who will be appointed as the next manager.
"I am sure there will be an announcement soon and maybe I can comment on it then, but at the moment it is just speculation and there is nothing I can say,” explained the Welsh veteran.
“I am looking forward a lot to next year because Manchester United is not renowned for being second,” he stated.
“But next year I guarantee that we will be number one in Manchester.”

“Only time will tell if Manchester United regret allowing Nemanja to leave,” said Ferdinand.
“Obviously, Jaap Stam played on for quite a few years at a good level after he left United and the same thing could happen with Nemanja. He’s a great player and it’s a shame he had to leave.”

In transfer news, the Red Devils continue to be linked with Edinson Cavani who could remain in Paris with the French champions but Luke Shaw of Southampton who has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford is ‘close’ to a deal, according to The Mirror.
United also remain linked with Germany duo Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller ahead of the summer transfer window. However, Muller ‘played down’ the rumours he could leave Bayern Munich.
In other news, the Class of ’92 will play a friendly match against Salford City on August 7 at the AJ Bell Stadium. United legends Ryan Giggs, Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, and Nicky Butt will feature in the team alongside ‘other special guests’.
