Snubbed Tottenham star congratulates team-mate and Chelsea quartet

Sandro Brazil

Sandro has congratulated David Luiz, Willian, Ramires, Oscar and Paulinho on their international call-ups for Brazil this summer.

The Brazil squad was announced yesterday and several Premier League players were celebrating being picked to play at a home World Cup - whilst others were left heartbroken.

At Chelsea four players celebrated getting the nod for Luiz Felipe Scolari’s final 23 - with David Luiz, Ramires, Willian and Oscar lucky enough to get the nod.

Meanwhile, at Liverpool, there were no such celebrations - as Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva were overlooked.

At Tottenham Hotspur it was a mixture - as one midfielder was included and the other left behind.

Unfortunately for Sandro he was the latter.

The defensive midfielder, nicknamed ‘The Beast’ by supporters, was not called up to the squad after a difficult campaign with the club. He has recently been singled out for flack by Tim Sherwood and Sandro has given it back. Just today he is quoted as saying:

“Sherwood will leave at the end of the season. Then it’s a new coach – a new everything! I am happy at the moment.”

His injury problems have not helped either, and the last of his 17 international caps came way back in 2012 - so he was probably not surprised to see his name excluded from the selection.

However big money summer recruit Paulinho is a big favourites of Scolari and has been given the nod.

And Sandro has taken to Instagram to congratulate all those who are going to the World Cup in his absence…

Parabéns para todos os amigos convocados... Vamos Brasillll .. Estamos com vcs ...
