Manchester United veteran player Ryan Giggs had nothing but high praise for the club's next generation as he ushered in a new era at Old Trafford on Tuesday, May 6 against Hull City, trouncing the Tigers by a 3-1 score.
According to the Welshman, now fulfilling a player-manager role on an interim basis, said that Tom Lawrence had been training with the senior team all week, along with other youngsters such as Adnan Januzaj and James Wilson - both of whom he would have played frequently with in the youth teams.
Giggs replaced Lawrence last night, but not after the forward excelled.
While Wilson hogs the limelight due to his exquisite two-goal dream debut, Lawrence also enjoyed a commendable outing, testing Eldin Jakupovic early whilst displaying a good touch and close control.
Ultimately, Giggs' faith in the club's academy products was repaid and, commenting on his experience, Tom Lawrence took to his social media profile on Twitter to write: "Wow - what a feeling that was tonight and I loved every minute of it! Coming off to be replaced by a legend like Giggs; what a feeling."
