Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Spurs to approach Pochettino next week? Club eyes up sensible double signing

A round up of news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Tottenham will reportedly move to sign Mauricio Pochettino after this weekend’s final Premier League game.

The Saints boss has emerged as one of the front runners for the head coach role at White Hart Lane.

The Mail reports that Spurs plan to talk with Pochettino some time early next week.

The Mirror has suggested that Tottenham are looking to sign David Marshall and Steven Caulker from Cardiff City.

Marshall has been superb in goal this season despite Cardiff’s relegation while Caulker has blossomed since he left White Hart Lane.

However, Marshall only signed a new contract two months ago which makes it difficult to see him leaving.

Tottenham director Franco Baldini is reportedly set for a long stay at White Hart Lane.

The Italian is blamed by some for the transfer failings of last summer, which saw the Gareth Bale cash spent on several players not up to Tottenham’s standard.

Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela cost over £50 million between them but have been major disappointments this season.
