'I'm so happy now' - Chelsea players react to Brazil World Cup call-ups

Chelsea stars David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Willian are all off to represent their country in a home World Cup

While there would have been some glum faces in Liverpool today West London was probably beaming after several Chelsea players celebrated making it to the World Cup with Brazil this summer.

Brazilian boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, himself a former Chelsea boss, has not messed around with his squad announcement. No preliminary squad needed, no training groups - just the 23 players he wants to take from the start … no messing.

He said there might be a surprise and there was. Napoli defender Henrique chosen despite not being a regular with Selecao and ahead of Atletico Madrid’s outstanding Miranda or Paris Saint-Germain’s protégé Marquinhos.

Luckily for the Chelsea boys that did not affect them. David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Willian, who only recently got back into the international fold, are all on the plane home this summer - while, barring injuries, Liverpool pair Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho will have to just watch from afar.

But the Chelsea boys, well they are obviously delighted.

They have been on Twitter and Instagram already celebrating the news - now they will hope to lift the infamous trophy.

Here is some reaction from Chelsea’s Sloane Square Samba Stars:
