It seems as though Kenny Dalglish hasn't given up hope just yet.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Liverpool were favourites to end their 24 year wait for the title but a loss to Chelsea followed by the side throwing away a three goal lead against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park means the chances of the Reds ending the season as champions are incredibly slim.
Their draw against Palace moved the Reds back to the top of the Premier League, a point clear of Manchester City who have played a game less going into the final week of the campaign.
But it also saw players like Luis Suarez in tears at the final whistle at the realisation that it’s perhaps not to be this season, but former player and manager Dalglish – who is now an ambassador at the club – tweeted:
Wouldn't it be ironic if that point at Palace was decisive in our title race. Won't know until Sunday's games.— Kenneth Dalglish (@kennethdalglish) May 7, 2014
It does look unlikely with Manchester City strong favourites to overcome both Aston Villa and West Ham United at home, and finish the season as Champions. It seems that even four points will be enough given City's superior goal difference.
City are now best priced 1/12 to win the title with Liverpool as long as 9/1. The chances are looking slim, but as Dalglish outlines, it's not impossible.
