Four Chelsea players have been included in the Brazil squad for this summer’s World Cup for the host nation.
Defender David Luiz along with midfield trio of Willian, Oscar and Ramires have all been selected by Luiz Felipe Scolari with the task of helping their country lift the World Cup for a sixth time, this time in their home country.
Former Manchester City right-back Maicon, now of Inter Milan, is also part of the squad as is former Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Caesar along with former Everton striker Jo.
Unsurprisingly, the squad is littered with household names who ply their trade in La Liga, the Bundesliga and the French League.
Omissions of note from the Premier League include Liverpool duo Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva, who have been part of the side that has launched an improbable title challenge this season.
The squad that will carry the tags of favourites is listed below:
Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Toronto FC), Jefferson (Botafogo), Victor (Gremio)
Defenders: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Maicon (Internazionale), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Maxwell (Paris Saint-Germain), David Luiz (Chelsea), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain), Dante (Bayern Munich), Henrique (Napoli)
Midfielders: Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Paulinho (Tottenham), Ramires (Chelsea), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Oscar (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), Hernanes (Internazionale), Bernard (Shakhtar Donetsk)
