Destiny game modes detailed

Destiny

Bungie’s FPS sci-fi epic, Destiny, has its game modes broken down in a YouTube video from MoreConsole.

In a report over on Gameranx, they made reference to a YouTube video by MoreConsole which looks at the game modes in Destiny.

The Director, a menu guide to the game’s locations, is where you will choose the game modes you wish to jump into.

Patrol is like the game’s ‘free-roam’, allowing you to explore the areas, picking up mission or simply enjoying the environments at your leisure.

In the Campaign mode you will take on the main story of Destiny, either solo or in a group of three. And as the video states, little is known about the ins and outs of this story, as Bungie prefer to let players discover this for themselves.

Three man co-op missions, named ‘Strikes’, as detailed in the gameplay video here, are three-man co-op missions that will see players working their way through numerous objectives and finally taking on a boss at the end. Typically taking around 15-30 mins, Strike missions will be the pick-up-and-play mode, allowing players to get their fix, whilst not tying them into anything too time-consuming.

Raids are for the hardcore, and made for groups of six players. Unlike Strike mode, Raids are said to take up to 45 mins just to crack the entrance, so you’ll be in it for the long-haul. This mode is made up of end-game content after you’ve levelled up your guardian, and have gathered yourself some high-level gear and plenty of experience.

For more details on the game’s modes have a look at the video by MoreConsole below – warning, swearing is involved.

Destiny is due out on 9 September 2014, for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Those who pre-order the game will also get access to the beta this Summer.
