Vidic on whether he'll cry at final home game, gives message to fans

Manchester United defensive stalwart will feature at Old Trafford for final time before transferring to Internazionale.

Many tears have been shed by prominent footballers within the English game as, following on from the lamenting of John Terry, the sobbing of Steven Gerrard and sniveling of Luis Suarez, there may well be further weeping this evening, on the Old Trafford turf.

While the aforementioned trio were saddened by the slipping of silverware from their grasp, any crying by the Manchester United playing staff would not be caused by the prospect of losing their command in a title race, but, rather, the fact that the club's fixture against Hull City could be the last time Nemanja Vidic competes in the Theatre of Dreams.

Alpha defender Vidic, 32, commented in this evening's United Review: "You never know what is going to happen with your emotions. You can try to predict but I wasn't emotional before and I haven't cried yet! We will see what happens after the last game… it is going to be sad."

Sending a message to the club's fanbase, the centre back, who will join Inter Milan in the summer, added: "Thank you for all the support you have given me over the years. I know I will be supporting the club in the future.

"Hopefully we can win as many trophies as we did in my eight years over the next eight years."
