Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Spurs apologise for mocking Liverpool, Levy lines up difficult Martinez swoop

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have apologised for mocking Liverpool after they let a three goal lead slip at Crystal Palace last night.

Spurs have started an investigation after their official Twitter account was hacked and a message was posted up glorifying Liverpool’s fall in the title race.

“Brutal but very funny. The biggest capitulation since Newcastle in the 90s,” read the post in question.

The Mirror suggests Spurs are weighing up a move to try and sign Roberto Martinez from Everton.

The paper claims the Spaniard is at the top of Daniel Levy’s hit list in terms of candidates to replace Tim Sherwood at the end of the season.

Martinez could be a popular choice ahead of the likes of Frank de Boer and Mauricio Pochettino.

TalkSPORT has suggested that Spurs are keen on doing a deal for former West Ham United star Valon Behrami.

The Swiss has been one of Rafa Benitez’ best and most versatile players so far this season at Napoli in Serie A.

TalkSPORT has suggested a fee of around £10 million will be required should Tottenham move for him this summer.
