Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has posted a message on his official Instagram account that appears to reference the Reds' disappointing draw with Crystal Palace on Monday evening and the emotions that followed it.
That result means Manchester City only need four more points from their remaining two matches to seal the Premier League title - a huge swing after Brendan Rodgers' side had defeated Manuel Pellegrini's men just a few short weeks ago to put the title within touching distance.
That can no longer be said, after goals from Sturridge, Luis Suarez and Joe Allen were wiped out by a late Palace fightback that left some Liverpool players in tears at the final whistle.
Posting a candid photograph of himself on Tuesday, Sturridge wrote, 'Trying to smile through the pain. It's hard though. Picking myself up and still believing it's possible because anything is in life.'
That may be true, but it would take an almightly slip-up from City to see Liverpool now claim their first Premier League crown.
Still, as Sturridge said, 'Keep the faith. Believe'. Which is exactly what the Anfield faithful will be doing in what remains of an unbelievable campaign.
