A round up of news stories and transfer rumours about Liverpool from the past 24 hours.

High profile Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has branded Liverpool star Luis Suarez a blatant cheat and enjoy the striker’s tears following the 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace last night.

“It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end. I like that. He’s a blatant cheat. How on earth he was awarded the FWA Footballer of the Year Award I’ll never know,” he’s quoted by talkSPORT.

Liverpool are favourites to land Barcelona attacking star Cristian Tello this summer. Tello has started just two La Liga matches this season and is thought to be open to the idea of a move away from the Nou Camp to play more regularly.

Liverpool are also favourites to sign Lazio star Ogenyi Onazi after the Nigerian hinted that he’d be interested in a move to Anfield, with the Mirror quoting him as saying he’d jump at the chance to complete the move this summer.

Brendan Rodgers has said his team’s defending last night in the game in London, simply wasn’t good enough.

“It (the defence) is an area that we know we need to be better at - That's 99 goals we've scored this season, so to come here and be 3-0 up and concede three goals, as a coach, that's what you have to look at,” said the boss.

Liverpool continue to be linked with a double move in the transfer market for Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana. The duo have been tipped to leave the Saints this summer and Brendan Rodgers could commission big money moves for both.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has laid into the side’s current back four following their capitulation in the game against Crystal Palace last night.

“Defensively they're not up to being Premier League champions. Sakho makes you nervous. They always concede together. It's not good enough,” said Carragher on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

Liverpool legend Ian Callaghan believes there is still some drama left in the Premier League title rest, suggesting that the pressure is now well and truly on Manchester City.

“The pressure is on Manchester City. I went to their match at Everton on Saturday and it was a nervy affair. We can still hope and we have to stay positive. City could easily slip up,” he told Liverpool’s website.

In other news, a Manchester United fanzine, RedIssue, claims Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard bought drinks for everyone in a Merseyside based bar before the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Anfield. He reportedly told one fan he did it to celebrate Liverpool winning the league.
