The Premier League has had plenty of twists and turns this season, but perhaps the most dramatic one happened at Selhurst Park last night.
Liverpool, who were looking to extend their lead at the top of the table ahead of Manchester City, established a 3-0 lead against Crystal Palace thanks to goals from Joe Allen, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez and looked to be on their way to a routine victory.
However, a 79th minute strike from Damien Delaney and two late goals from Dwight Gayle made the score 3-3 and completed an unlikely comeback for Tony Pulis’s side.
It means that City now have a firm grip on the Premier League title and if they can take four points from their remaining fixtures – against West Ham United and Aston Villa at home - then they will almost certainly be champions.
Given the Blues performances at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, few can see them slipping up, regardless of the pressure that comes during the final strides of the tightest of title races; after all, look what happened just two seasons ago, when Sergio Aguero changed history with the last kick of an unbelievable game against Queens Park Rangers.
Their fans certainly know how close title glory is, too. Below are just are just a selection of tweets from City supporters and players revelling in Liverpool’s draw.
